Coppermine Soccer Club Accepted Into MLS NEXT’s New Competition Tier for the 2025-26 Season

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Baltimore, MD – February 27, 2025 – Coppermine Soccer Club is proud to announce its acceptance into MLS NEXT’s new tier of competition for the upcoming 2025-26 season, marking a significant milestone in the club’s commitment to elite player development. MLS NEXT is the elite youth soccer development platform in North America – currently with 151 member clubs and over 16,000 players.

This new tier of competition will provide our U13-U19 boys’ teams with:

  • Player Development - Coppermine strengthens its pathway to professional and collegiate soccer through its successful 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 development models and MLS NEXT’s direct link to Major League Soccer academies.
  • Next Level Exposure – Players gain visibility through high-level league competition, MLS NEXT FEST, national events, and enhanced college recruiting opportunities.
  • Strategic Partnerships – MLS NEXT’s strategic partnership with the Girls Academy League and our recent partnership with MLS GO perfectly align with Coppermine’s player development model.
  • High School and Professional Development – As one of only three Maryland clubs in MLS NEXT, Coppermine allows players to compete for their high school teams while benefiting from professional-level training and competition with this new tier.
  • Coaching Development & Leadership - Coppermine’s coaching staff will participate in year-round education and national-level training opportunities to ensure continued professional coaching development.

Yassine Iguidre, Director of Coaching:

"We’ve promoted our players to the highest levels—whether advancing toward the professional route with the MLS D.C. United Academy or achieving success at the college level. With MLS NEXT, we are committed to creating even more of these opportunities for our players."

Andrew Bulls, President:

"At Coppermine, our commitment remains unwavering: to develop our players, support our families, and build a strong coaching network with top-tier professionals. We invest in our facilities and infrastructure to provide the very best for those who put their trust in us.”
