College Q&A Recruiting Seminars 3/24/25 & 3/31/25

At Coppermine Soccer Club, we are committed to providing our athletes and families with every opportunity to succeed, both on and off the field.

That’s why we’re proud to announce our second exclusive College Q&A Sessions with college soccer coaches Mike Melton, Associate Head Coach at US Naval Academy; and Cameron Fertenbaugh, Assistant Coach at Georgetown University..

These sessions, scheduled for March 24th and March 31, 2025, are designed to give parents and players insights into the college recruiting process, directly from the experts who shape the future of student-athletes.

Why These Sessions Are a Game-Changer

The college recruiting process can be daunting for both players and their families. With so many factors to consider—academic requirements, athletic evaluations, scholarship opportunities, and program fit—it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Coaches Zingman and Kohler with their extensive experience in college athletics and recruiting, are uniquely qualified to provide insight into the process and provide actionable advice tailored to our families needs.

Mike Melton

Mike has over a decade of Division I coaching experience, including his pivotal role in Navy’s back-to-back Patriot League Championships in 2019 and 2020-21. Mike brings a wealth of knowledge in recruiting, player development, and academic oversight—key areas for aspiring collegiate athletes. His background as a recruiting coordinator at top programs like Mercer and Xavier, combined with his USSF “A” license and experience scouting for U.S. youth national teams, makes him an invaluable resource.

Cameron Fertenbaugh

As the assistant coach for Georgetown University’s women’s soccer team since 2023, Cameron actively developed players to compete at a collegiate level, giving him firsthand insight into what college programs look for in recruits. Prior to Georgetown,, he spent four years at Florida Atlantic University. His experience spans recruiting, training, and mentoring athletes who’ve successfully transitioned to college soccer. Cameron will share practical advice on how players can stand out, communicate effectively with coaches, and find the right collegiate fit.
