Gabriela Colón U17 Puerto Rico National Team

  • Coppermine Soccer Club's Gabriela Colón has received an invitation from the U17 Puerto Rican National Team. The team will be competing in the U17 Concacaf Championship in Mexico. Puerto Rico is in Group B that consists of:
    USA
  • Canada
  • Puerto Rico
  • Panama

  • Gabriela will travel to Mexico on Jan 31st to begin training. The top three teams advance to the U17 World Cup.
    Puerto Rico will play:2/2: Canada
  • 2/4: USA
  • 2/6: Panama

  Gabriela's family received notification from the Director of Recruitment for the Federation inviting her to join the team, which she gladly accepted. The family has been communicating with the federation and providing highlight videos for review. Marcela Robinson , a former Puerto Rican National Player, and captain of the Coppermine United team, also reached out on her behalf. 
Gabriela plays club soccer for the Coppermine '07 Elite64 Team and has been a Premier/Coppermine player since she was eight years old. Val Teixeira has been her coach since she was nine and Gabriela credits him for all of her success. Coach Val has guided her in every step of this process and her current college recruitment journey. She currently plays high school soccer at Perry Hall High School as a Sophomore starter.   Coppermine Soccer Club is very proud of Gabriela and wish her luck in the  U17 Concacaf Championship.
